When Johanna told us about a volunteer opportunity through her church, Vox Church, we knew it would be something special - but we didn't realize how special until we stepped into The Closet.

Fostering Family Hope is an incredible organization that supports children and families in the foster care system through care bags, family events, support groups, and our favorite, The Closet. Founded by two amazing foster moms, Megan and Erin, The Closet is a boutique style shop designed just for foster families. It is filled with stylish, new or like-new clothing for preemies through teens, and everything is completely free! Just like any high-end boutique, the families get to shop by appointment for a personal experience. All of this is possible from generous donations.

We were so excited to jump in and help! Johanna took on the task of sorting and showcasing all the shoes (now that was a surprise 😉) - and wow, she did an amazing job! Meanwhile, Arlene, Michelle and Angie, headed to the back room, where we went through mountains of donated bags, sorting through clothes to find only the best for the boutique. It was tough to be picky because the donations were all in great shape, but Megan and Erin assured us that anything not chosen for The Closet would still go to a great cause elsewhere. No piece would go to waste!

What struck us most was how thoughtful and dignified the whole experience is for the families. We were thrilled to have played even a small part in making that happen.
