May 2 was a beautiful reminder of what happens when heart meets action.

Early this morning, members of Give Back Girls showed up in two powerful ways across Connecticut—each rooted in service, compassion, and community. Give Back Girls Dee, Johanna, Colleen, and Lori joined Michelle at the "Be Their Light Walk" for pediatric brain cancer - The Cure Starts Now. They helped check in participants, distribute T-shirts and sell raffle tickets. It was wonderful seeing so many volunteers, families, and walkers all coming together for one meaningful cause. The moving pre-walk ceremony set the tone for the day, reminding everyone of the importance of supporting children and families affected by pediatric brain cancer. It was an inspiring day filled with compassion, strength, and community.
This event was especially meaningful for Lori, who volunteered with us for the second time—officially earning her place as a Give Back Girl. Her excitement in earning her T-shirt said it all: she’s found her people.

At the same time, Arlene, along with Give Back Girls Sunshine, Joelle, and Pat, were at Bradley International Airport, cheering on veterans departing with Honor Flight Connecticut. This incredible organization provides veterans the opportunity to be honored for their service and “welcomed home” as they should have been many years before. Arlene noted a woman in the cheer crowd wearing a Nurse corp hat and grabbed a picture with her after thanking her for her service. Pat shared that she served in Saigon. It would be so interesting to be able to talk with the vets to get their stories. Well maybe one vet story each year that we send them off! Jump over to our facebook or instagram for all the pictures. OMG! Speaking of jumping. Our GBB-Sunshine has more energy at 7am than I can only dream of having. I said, "Do you think we can get around these folks by jumping over the luggage carousel?" In a hot second, she was up, over and beyond! The pictures she took were from angles that we are still not clear where she took them from! Check out her photos here.
The early hour didn’t matter. Gratitude showed up wide awake.
Two locations. One mission. Full hearts.
